Sky View

Above is a progress shot on The Address Residences Sky View towers, site is busy! And this is right in between our other two projects, in Downtown Dubai... While substructure works progress, we are working towards the design phase deadline that is approaching at the end of the month. Our involvement includes full scope facade engineering and BMU strategy consultancy, from schematic stage to handover. The facades are clad with glazed unitized curtain wall. The base of the towers are connected with a super-transparent tensioned cable supported glazed membrane wall. A bridge connects the towers high up and an observation deck skywalk feature is added to the other side. Will be the next must-to-do tourist attraction of Dubai, with its glass floor at 60 floors height!! It feels great to be part of the team realizing this.

We also had a presentation recently in Doha, at the Facade Design & Engineering conference. The presentation focused on our favorite topic, coordination needs, demonstrating through a case study of The Address Boulevard Hotel, how early interdisciplinary coordination can reduce problems on site, clarify interfacing, scope, basically solve problems before they become problems, resulting in smooth flowing construction, faster programme, clarity, happier people and better end product!

Dubai Design District, a complex of 10 buildings, with unitized curtain wall and aluminium shading features has also moved forward and the contractor has been chosen. This is a Design & Built procured project, so we start with intense construction design workshops. Looking forward!

We have two new colleagues joining us next week, and their desks are already getting full of papers, hehe.
