Kuraray 100 years anniversairy
Koltay Facades was invited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kuraray. Kuraray is an international chemical manufacturer which originated a century ago in Japan. Although they developed a variety of innovative materials throughout their decade of involvement, their most known and celebrated product is the SentryGlas interlayer, which allows to increase drastically the structural performance and post-breakage characteristics of laminated glass modules. Thank to their products innovation and exceptional customer-care and technical support, they were trusted partners throughout many emblematic Koltay Facades projects, such as the Museum of the Future or the Address Sky view.
Thus, it is not surprising that they reached out to us not only inviting Koltay Facades team members to take part in the celebration and inauguration of their new offices, but also to ask Agnes to be part of the board discussion which took place during the event. Alongside Steve J. Bennison, leader of materials developments initiatives at Kuraray America and Li Ren, former president of AIA Middle East, Agnes discussed the importance of SentryGlas in the field of Architecture and Facade Engineering. Although originally the product was developed for hurricane prevention, today it is most commonly used to provide seamless integration of balustrade and improve structural properties of laminated glass. Visions around the future of the field of architecture and engineering were also exchanged.

Following the board discussion, speeches from Kuraray's direction, a live concert involving tradition Japanese drums and flutes provided entertainment, which was followed by an ancient Japanese inauguration ceremony. The evening concluded with some of the best dinners in the history of company events according to our colleagues.

We wish good luck and success for the upcoming 100 years to Kuraray!
