The RC works are going ahead full speed on our Address The Boulevard Hotel, while design workshops and coordination meetings with the facade contractor have commenced. We had been involved in this project since schematic stage, prepared the tender documentation, and now follow up with shopdrawing reviews and later site inspections. The hotel is 370 meters high, clad with fully unitized system and metal cladding. It is located just beside Dubai Mall.

Meanwhile, our other 330m high Address Hotel project, located at the other end of Dubai Mall, part of a multi-tower development called Fountain Views, has just been launched for sales by Emaar. The units will be operated as serviced apartments or rented as hotel rooms. Read theannouncement here.

Interestingly, this sales event coincides with the 5 year anniversary of Lehman Brothers' bankruptcy (15 Sept 2008),which is regarded as the start of the past global crisis. In the UAE, downturn period in the construction industry started not long after that, following the 2008 Cityscape. It is great to see all these new projects in the UAE again, and even better to be part of the design and construction of these main landmarks of the city.
