The dhow-shaped building of Dubai Opera, designed by Atkins, overlooks the Dubai Fountain and the Burj Khalifa and is the center of the Opera District. Completed in 2016, is a 2000-seat performing arts centre with a highly flexible layout able to host a variety of performances and events.
Facade elevations comprised of primarily facetted and inclined glazed curtain wall with shading louvers and mashrabiya screens. Intricate Arabic patterned timber attachments are featured on the interior. Koltay Façades provided a comprehensive third party design review for the Opera House’s facade schematic and detailed design packages as well as assisted the tendering process.
