Situated on the north shore of the fast-growing Dubai Creek, this 16 story building - operated by Rotana - welcomes a 5-star hotel and serviced apartments. It comprises of different volumes that come together around a full height gold-finished central atrium, each one featuring its peculiar: the smallest volume, facing the Creek, features an array of square-framed windows. Aside, horizontal fins define the rectangular shaped volume, where the majority of the rooms will be located. Finally, on the west side, the iconic triangular prism, frames the facade in a shiny aluminum cladding with a floor-high meshed and brings the building up to its final 80 m height.
Koltay Façade was involved since the early stage. Our team fully designed and engineered more than 10 different facade systems, including unitized and stick curtain wall, window systems, metal cladding, skylights and canopies.
In addition, we took care of the facade access for this “jewel”: BMU comprises of 3 roof-mounted machines plus a concealed monorail system that will allow for cleaning and maintenance of this complex-shaped building in the most efficient way.
After the design stage, Koltay followed up with on-site supervision during construction stage and successfully completed handover in late 2018.
